The Vortec Advantage
Vortec Enclosure Coolers are a low-cost alternative to expensive, high maintenance air conditioners; and avoid contamination with dirty, humid air caused by fans.
Vortex A/C's use filtered compressed air and vortex tube technology to produce sub-zero air for industrial spot cooling applications. With no moving parts to wear out, the internal vortex tube converts compressed air into a cold air stream, producing temperatures down to -30°F (-34°C).

Vortex A/C Coolers incorporate the most up-to-date features into Vortec’s line of highly reliable, cost effective enclosure coolers. They provide a 78% noise reduction compared to other vortex tube-based coolers, are easy to install and come in various ratings, including NEMA 12, 4, and 4X.
The Electric Vortex A/C Coolers incorporate a prewired electric thermostat that allows users to set a desired temperature to be maintained in the enclosure, making them easy to install. Like the Vortex A/C’s, these units have a small footprint to fit on all enclosures and in confined areas; and can be mounted on the top, side, or front of the unit.
Hazardous Location (HazLoc) Duty Vortex A/C Coolers are designed specifically for purged electrical enclosures in Class I Div 2, Groups A,B,C and D locations, Class II Div 2, Groups F&G and Class III locations. HazLoc Vortex A/C coolers have a T4 Temperature Class rating.
ATEX Vortex A/C Coolers are designed specifically for purged * Electrical enclosures in ATEX Zones 2 and 22 and Temperature Class T4 areas.
Our most heavy duty model yet - The ProtEX Vortex A/C Coolers are designed specifically for purged electrical enclosures in ATEX Zones 1 and 21, UL Class I, Div. 1 (Groups A,B,C and D), Class II, Div. 1 (Groups F and G), Class III and Temperature Class T3 areas.

As the first company to develop technology for converting the vortex tube phenomenon into effective industrial cooling applications, ITW Vortec prides itself on providing the best innovative compressed air solutions in the industry.
Since 1961 we have continued to refine and expand vortex tube applications, as well as develop air amplification products. Purchased by Illinois Tool Works in 1990, Vortec is housed under the ITW Air Management business unit and works alongside Paxton Products to design quality engineered air systems.

*Warranty excludes ProtEX units due to product regulations. ProtEX Vortex A/C are covered by a 3-year warranty. The product should be replaced after 3 years to maintain approval.
